Digital hygiene
I try not to spend a lot of time on my phone. However, sometimes I believe I still pay more attention to my phone, more than it needs.
After reading these three Herman's posts: Digital hygiene: Emails, Digital hygiene: Notifications, Digital hygiene: Passwords; I decided to apply that advice to myself.
I started muting useless notifications and after that I hear less 'pings' from my phone, so I get less distractions. That's cool :)
Then I clear my both e-mails and now when I open them I see no emails. All the ones that aren't really important are removed and the others are archived. I only leave the emails on the main page that require an action for me. Now I don't feel overwhelmed when I check the mail. I even enjoy cleaning it.
Finally, after several days, I create an account on Bitwarden to manage my passwords. Before that, I was searching what were the best options. 1Password seems reliable and professional, but I'd have to pay (It's affordable in the future tho). KeePass was another option and it seems cool due to the fact that it saves the data locally on your computer, which eliminates all possible online leaks. It's also free that's good. After all of that, I decided to use Bitwarden mainly because it's free (and we could say i'm broke rn) and it's open-source. It's also good to have 2-factor authentication and back-up recovery codes.
If you want more information with this I recommend you to read the posts I linked before hehe.
I also started using a new browser that wasn't built on Chronium. I found Zen Browser and for now I like it. The legendary Mozilla Firefox would be cool, but it's gonna implement some things with AI so fuck AI.
💛 have a nice day!
